Challenge

When Hudson Valley Community College wanted to expand its workforce training facilities in the Saratoga Technology + Energy Park (STEP), it was looking for a space that could evolve with the specialized fields it would accommodate, while at the same time maintaining sustainability, particularly LEED certification.

Results

Mosaic created the new showcase facility in STEP, the two-story STEM Education Center, which houses multi-purpose classrooms on the first floor, and specialized labs on the second, each designed flexibly to adapt to changing curricula and class sizes. The facility also includes student support spaces, faculty offices, a conference room, and a basement designed for expansion with future program growth.

What’s more, the building easily achieved LEED Silver certification, designed to optimize energy systemically, while also bringing a vibrant organic aesthetic into the space.
